I’m a small town Southern girl who loves the outdoors, animals and natural scenes. I love to capture people living and building their lives and making them into a lasting memory. My God, family and photography make me unbelievably happy. 

My style of photography allows me to capture both simple and life changing moments in everyday life. I strive to record these moments in time in not only a creative way but artistic as well.

I am located a bit outside of Learned, Mississippi with my amazingly supportive husband and sweet little girl. There we love our little country life and even have a small farm to go along with it.

I photograph in my in-home studio and on-location, serving most of southern Mississippi & surrounding areas. Loving to discover new experiences and surroundings I always welcome travel.

Things to know:

• Session fee's are separate from packages. Session fee's are for my time and talent, props, and an online gallery of your images.
• Make a note that there is a minimum order of $100.00* (except for Newborn Sessions, $200 Minimum Order)
• There will be a 7% Mississippi sales tax added to your order and Session.
• You may choose multiple poses for whatever collection of your choice for each size but wallets.
• Wallets come in units of 8 & must be the same pose.
• All images 11x14 and larger will be mounted.
• I DO NOT SUBSTITUTE DIFFERENT SIZES WITHIN THE PACKAGES.
• Please allow 10-14 days for images to be ready for your viewing.
• Please allow 2-3 weeks (without Holidays) for your printed orders to be ready for you to pick up at the studio.
• There will be a $40 charge for all and any return checks.
• ALL ORDERS WILL NEED TO PLACED WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER YOUR SESSION, THEY WILL NOT BE LOADED AGAIN TO THE WEBSITE.
• If you place an order from your session within 60 Days of your session they will be purged to external hard drive, if they are not ordered they will be DELETED.

Yes we do offer Copy right images. You must purchase a minimal print order of $100 and your Digital Download with all edited images will be depending on how many images you have. Often Digital Image Albums can be from $150 to $750.

What should I wear to my photo shoot?

• The goal of any fine portrait is to direct the viewer's attention to the face or faces in the portrait. Simple long-sleeved garments in medium to dark tones of brown rust, burgundy, green, or blue are pleasing choices when photographed against a dark background. Avoid light colors that approximate flesh tones such as beige, tan, peach, pink, white, and yellow. Darker shades are more flattering and slimming.
• In a family group, proper clothing coordination is critical. When decorating a home, a major concern is to coordinate the colors and tones of the walls, carpets, draperies and furniture. This kind of coordination also is necessary when selecting clothing for a group portrait. Choose clothing in the same tonal ranges so that no single member of the family stands out because the clothing is too light or bright as compared to the rest of the group.

 Tips On Clothing Style And Accessories

• Very simple garments always photograph best.
• Turtle necks or V-necks are flattering provided that neither is exaggerated in style. Avoid very wide or particularly deep V-neck garments as well as bulky cowl neck sweaters that completely hide the neck.
• Long sleeves are essential for teens and adults, as bare arms call attention to themselves and will overpower the face.
• Women being photographed in full length should wear long skirts, pants, or dark stockings in order to keep the eye from being directed toward the legs and away from the face.
• If feet are to show in the portrait, make certain shoes and stockings are in keeping with the visual intent of the portrait.
• Men should have their hair cut about one week before the portrait session. Women should be photographed whenever they are happiest with their hair in relation to the time it is styled.
• Simple colors are the best. White, black or simpler colors with blue jeans works for almost any outdoor backgrounds.

Maternity Sessions

 
Time Frame

• A pregnant woman should consider taking maternity photos as far along in her pregnancy as possible. If she does this later in the pregnancy, she will be better able to show off her stomach in the clothing that she wears. The third trimester tends to be the best time to schedule a maternity photo shoot. The belly is extremely visible at this point, and the photographer can capture the fullness of the stomach.

 What clothing should I bring to my photo shoot?

• Clothing for maternity photo shoots should be tight-fitting around the belly. Loose and baggy shirts and pants will only hide the pregnant stomach. Stretch pants and pants that have low waistlines won’t bunch up as the woman is posing or sitting, and are a good idea to wear during a shoot. In addition, tight-fitting tank tops and maternity tops that have thin fabrics that cling to the body are also good choices for maternity portraits.
  
  
• For pregnant women who want to include their other children in their shoots, they may don a more playful style of clothing. White tank tops accentuate the stomach and have thin fabrics. Casual fitted khaki pants are a good wardrobe choice for these types of shoots.
  
  
• Wear anything you feel comfortable in and LOVE. Avoid patterns, stripes and plaids unless you love they are a true representation of you personality. Keep clothing selections for maternity portraits simple.
  
  
• AllysonBrooke Photography recommends solid colors: white, black, brown, gray. Avoid bright pink and yellow – they never look great.
  
  
• Pants – jeans (any color), black pants (yoga pants work well)Necklines – select v-necks, squarenecks, turtlenecks or deep scoop necks. Women should avoid crewnecks.
  
  
• Sleeves – Long-sleeved tend to be the most flattering, but sleeveless and spaghetti straps work well. Women should avoid t-shirt length sleeves unless you have beautiful, sculpted or very thin upper arms.
• Fabrics - look for clingy, not necessarily tight, fabrics with a little stretch.
• Shirts – big, white, button-down rumpled man’s shirt. Any shirt or cardigan that opens down the front works well.
• Tanks – anything clingy, fitted or stretchy in solid colors (white, black, red, blue…) 
  
  
• Don’t wear anything binding to the shoot – you don’t want marks on your skin.

 
What should my husband wear?

• Men should bring jeans or khaki pants or any other dark bottoms
• I encourage rumpled (not starched), plain white shirts
• Throw a regular, WHITE and/or BLACK crew-neck t-shirt in the bag, too.

What should I bring to my photo shoot?

• Bring large or small props that have meaning. Bring stuffed animals, blankets, building blocks, flowers…

Newborn Sessions

Newborns are my favorite age to photograph at AllysonBrooke Photography. The best days are the days that I get to photograph a fresh newborn. This age can be the most difficult to photograph, but patience always pays off with memorable images. Remembering their tiny features, fuzzy hair, and all that is new about them, and these days should be captured and always remembered.

When should I schedule?

• The best time to contact AllysonBrooke Photography is before you have your baby. I will then add you to my schedule when your due date is expected. Once your baby arrives, then within the first week is the best time to schedule your session. The first week works best to get peaceful sleepy and very curly poses. After two weeks of age, they are more likely to be disturbed while sleeping, and can also become colicky or baby acne can start to flare.

How long is my session?

• It’s not uncommon for the session with a newborn to last 3-4 hours, allowing plenty of time to feed and comfort. Newborn sessions are done either at my studio or at your house. If you choose, AllysonBrooke Photography’s studio we can control climate and have access to all props and set-ups. The newborn MUST be well fed, preferably under 2 weeks of age. Also key is to have the mom in the back of the studio away from the newborn. It’s crazy how their little bodies work and even the smell or sound of their mom can make them restless and want to wake!
